Faculty Gitlab

There is a faculty-wide installation of Gitlab (https://gitlab.mff.cuni.cz) available. Gitlab is a web-based repository primarily useful for source code management.

Gitlab is available for faculty employees and students (the account is created automatically by the first login). Login credentials are the faculty loginname and password. Warning — the loginname is not the university ID (UKČO). If you do not know your loginname, it is possible to find it in the university CAS. By default, every user can create ten private projects.

If your department decides to use Gitlab, please choose a "department Gitlab administrator" and send her/his name to Pavel Semerád, who is the main Gitlab administrator, and who assigns higher permissions to the selected department admin. Then, create a group named by the acronym of your department, add your department members to the group, and create projects (and other subgroups) in this group.

Gitlab is available also for teaching purposes (all our students can use it too). In such a case, create a group named by the code of the course, for which you want to use Gitlab. For now, students can be added to the group only manually.

If you need Gitlab access for an external user (e.g., from another university, with which you cooperate on a project), please ask Pavel Semerád.

The complete Gitlab documentation is available at https://docs.gitlab.com/.
